Claiming your YouTube Official Artist Channel (OAC)

Requirements and steps for claiming your YouTube Official Artist Channel through Spare Music.

An Official Artist Channel (OAC) is a verified YouTube channel for your artist name. It brings your music videos, your Topic Channel, and your releases together in one place. Your Topic Channel is the channel YouTube creates for your artist name from your releases.

What you need first

  • At least one video on your own YouTube channel. YouTube Shorts don’t count.

  • Your channel name and your Topic Channel name must match exactly.

  • A video on your channel must match a release on your Topic Channel.

  • Your channel must be a music channel. It should post music, not a mix of other content.

Apply for your OAC

  1. Sign in to Spare Music.

  2. Go to the OAC request page. You can also find it under Tools.

  3. Follow the steps on screen to apply.

If you don’t meet all of the requirements yet, update your channel first, then come back and apply.

If something looks wrong after you’ve applied, contact support.
