Upload defaults are details we fill in for you on every new release or track. You can still change them on each upload. Set them for your whole team, or set contributor defaults for one artist.
Team-wide defaults
Select your picture at the top right, then Team settings and the Upload Defaults tab. You can set any or all of these and leave the rest blank:
Release defaults: Genre and Metadata language (the language your titles and details are written in)
Label: Spare Music or Your own label name, with a dropdown of your labels. See Create a label.
Default store selection: the stores selected on new releases, all 31 by default. To leave a store out of every release, select all, then clear that store.
Audio creation: Default AI usage and Default sample usage, each None, Some (≤50%), or Most (>50%). See Tell us about AI and samples.
Writers & publishers, Performers, and Additional contributors: the credits we add to every new track, at the bottom of the tab
Add contributor defaults
Under the group, select Add another writer or publisher, Add another performer, or Add another contributor.
For a writer, enter First Name, Middle Name (if they have one), and Last Name. Use their full legal name, because it goes on the credits.
For a performer or other contributor, enter their Name.
Select their Role.
To remove someone, select the red trash can icon on their row. You can also drag rows into a different order (⠿) or copy one. See Add track credits.
Defaults for one artist
In the menu on the left, select Artists & Labels.
Select the artist.
Select the Contributor defaults tab.
Select + Add writer or publisher (or the add button for performers and contributors), then fill in the same fields.
If more than one artist on a release has contributor defaults, check the credits on each new track.
