Spare Music will never charge innocent artists for someone else’s mistake.
We’re committed to ensuring that artists and labels who play fair are never impacted by artificial streaming activity caused by others. If a store issues a penalty due to artificial streaming, we investigate it thoroughly and only charge the specific client responsible — never non-violating parties.
This isn’t just a matter of principle. It’s part of our agreement with stores and it reflects how seriously we take your trust in us.
✅ What we commit to:
We never spread artificial streaming penalties across our client base: The only person who pays for violating activity is the one who caused it. This is generally the artist or label who uploaded the content.
We handle each case individually: Stores charge us due to one track or artist, we investigate internally before assigning responsibility. Everyone else stays unaffected.
The stores aren't to blame: To be clear, the stores aren't charging you the artist for this activity, instead it's being charged to Spare Music. We pass on fees we deem appropriate and in line with the above two commitments.
We communicate clearly and respectfully: Whether you’re a brand new artist or a major label, you’ll always get transparent updates and guidance. We'll provide you with the necessary reports and information from the store.
