Removing a release takes it out of every store we sent it to. Fans can no longer stream or download it.
Before you start
Tell your collaborators. If you share royalties on this release, let them know first. We’ll ask you to confirm you have.
Remove your release
In the menu on the left, select Library, then the release.
Select Release actions ▾, then Takedown release. On a live release, it’s the only item in the menu.
In the Remove “[your release]” from stores window, select all 5 boxes under CONFIRM YOU UNDERSTAND.
Under Reason for removal, tell us why. Use at least 25 characters.
Select Confirm takedown. It stays gray until you’ve selected all 5 boxes and entered a reason.
Don’t see Takedown release? You may not have permission, or the release is already removed from stores. To remove a release from one store only, contact support.
What happens next
We email you to confirm the request.
Our team usually reviews it and sends it to stores the same day. Each store removes releases at its own pace, from a few hours to several weeks.
If your release is still live after 3 weeks, contact support so we can look into it.
Your release stays in your Library. We still pay all royalties it earned up to the point it was removed.
Your release page, and any add-ons on it, are turned off.
Changed your mind?
You can’t cancel a removal request yourself once you’ve confirmed it. Contact support right away. The sooner you do, the better the chance we can stop it before it’s processed.
