Managing a large catalog or moving distributors? Our Bulk Importer lets you streamline this process, saving you time. We manage each bulk import request, aiming for a 48-hour turnaround.

Eligibility for Bulk Import

Currently, Bulk Catalog Imports are available for clients with:

  • 50 or more releases,

  • Complete metadata, audio files, and artwork for each release.

For regular bulk deliveries, please contact our support team or your account manager.

Audio File Requirements

We support the following audio file formats via our bulk import method:

  • HD WAV: 24-bit @ 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, or 192kHz

  • HD FLAC: 24-bit @ 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, or 192kHz

  • WAV: 16-bit @ 44.1kHz

  • FLAC: 16-bit @ 44.1kHz

  • Apple Digital Masters (WAV)

For Immersive Audio files, contact your Spare Music account manager. A stereo version in one of the formats above is also required.

Artwork Requirements

Please ensure artwork meets the following minimum requirements:

  • 2000 x 2000 pixels

  • 72 DPI

  • Perfect square format

Also, check that artwork follows Spare Music’s Artwork Guidelines. Avoid using invalid terms or social media references.

Metadata Information

If you’re transferring an existing catalog, your old distributor can export your metadata. Send it to your Spare Music account manager for assistance with importing.

For new releases, complete our Metadata Import Sheet - V2 and make sure all required fields are filled in accurately.

Delivery to Spare Music

Before requesting your bulk import, ensure:

  1. Your metadata import sheet is complete.

  2. All artwork and audio files are uploaded and named per your metadata import sheet.

  3. Spare Music has access to your files, preferably via an “Unlisted” link.

Once everything is ready, submit it to the Spare Music team. We aim to start imports within 48 hours, placing releases into “Draft” so you can review before final delivery to stores.
